CHOCOLATE PORRIDGE

Chocolate Porridge With Coconut Butter, Chopped Almonds & Raspberries

0% refined sugar, 100% Plant Based
Course Breakfast
Servings 2

Ingredients

  • - 100 g fine gluten free oats (can be with gluten if that is not an issue for you)
  • - 1 cup of hot water or plant based milk (I use oat milk for extra natural sweetness or unsweetened soy milk, almond milk, etc… -depends on what you like)
  • - 2 heaped tbsp raw cacao
  • - 0.5 tsp cinnamon
  • - 1/4 tsp vanilla powder
  • - Pinch of himalayan salt
  • - 4-5 drops of stevia (depends if you like it very sweet)
  • - 1 tbsp coconut butter
  • - 10 g of mixed nuts
  • - 2 tsp maple syrup or raw honey
  • - 5-10 raspberries or strawberries (frozen or fresh– if you use frozen ones, let them thaw ahead of time – I keep a jar of de-frosted berries in my fridge, when out of season, so I always have them ready for my breaky. They will keep for a week or so)

Optional ingredients to add flavors, nutrients & volume:

  • - Extra nuts
  • - Extra berries fresh or dry
  • - Coconut flakes
  • - Fresh mint
  • - Pinch of chili

Instructions

  • If you like your porridge hot you can make it in a moment, if you like it cold, you can make it and leave it to cool for an hour and then put it in the fridge for extra coolness
Mix oats with dry ingredients first: raw cacao, cinnamon, vanilla, salt, chili (if you’d like it spicy), add water or your plant milk.
Bring it to boil and keep stirring, it will be literally 5-10 minutes and your porridge is ready.
Make sure not to burn the pot, and add water if it’s too thick.
Sometimes I just mix all the ingredients and pour hot water over them and let them sit 15-20 minutes. Oats will soak it up and you will have your porridge ready without cooking.
When it's ready, transfer to 2 bowls and dress it up.
When you put coconut butter on a hot porridge, it will melt nicely all over (I love that), sprinkle it with chopped nuts, flakes, and berries, and fresh mint.
    Enjoy :)
    Bon Appetit!
